Prepared Dehydrated soup mixes made locally in Sherwood Park Alberta by Country Market Gourmet Food.
Beef and Barley Soup Mix
Ingredients:
Pearl barley, dried lentils, parsley flakes, minced onions, beef bouillon, thyme, vegetable flakes, bay leaves, pepper and garlic.
Cooking instructions:
Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a pan and brown 4 pounds of lean hamburger. Port off any drippings. Add 20 cups of water and contents of soup package and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover tightly and simmer for 90 minutes to 105 minutes. Enjoy!
Makes 16 servings.
Country Friendship
Ingredients:
Split peas, beef bouillon, pearl barley lentils, minced onions, long grain rice, and Italian seasoning.
Cooking Instructions:
Brown 1 pound stew meat or ground beef. Drain and add 12 cups of water and one can of tomatoes. Add the soup mix, bring to a boil and reduce heat. Cover and simmer for about 45 minutes. Enjoy!
